    • Great trucklet

Just acquired a Santa Cruz Limited. Have been driving it in town and on the highway. Really pleased so far -- handles very competently, feels planted and competent in cornering, and has good acceleration and braking. The Limited has amazing tech. The touchscreen is very easy to use. Some people prefer knobs and buttons for A/C and radio, but surprisingly, I am finding that I prefer the all-touchscreen controls. I appreciate that the SC fits in the garage without difficulty. I did not really want a truck as a daily driver. This splits the difference -- it's a very nice SUV on the interior but has a bed that's really useful for all the wet stuff when I go kayaking, as well as for other messy fun outdoor sports stuff. The SC also a top safety pick, which was important to me.
    • Packs a Punch Even With Small Bed

The technology is very good and the turbo engine has more then enough power to move the trucklet in every day driving. There are some odd omissions like no rear armrest, no power holding mirrors and no button to turn on the bed lights from inside the vehicle. I have the Limited and have gotten better gas mileage then advertised but the fuel gauge was hard to find. The cabin is very quiet except for some wind noise around the A pillars. The seats are firm and the back seats are a bit too deep. The different camera modes are extremely helpful though it takes some getting used to the camera view that pops up when you use the turn signal. I love the audible traffic camera ahead warning. There isn’t any lag when making selections on the touchscreen. The different driving modes aren’t that useful but maybe the snow mode will be. It’s surprisingly fun to drive with good handling. Turbo lag is minimal and 6.3 to 60 is reasonably quick. Visibility is ok but the blind spot warning and various camera modes offset the issues. I got an awesome price but I had to drive 60 miles to get it as local dealers had nearly $6,000 markups. This is my first Hyundai but it drives like a Turbo Subaru to me and is the luxury spiritual successor to my 80’s Dodge Rampage. Too soon to comment on realizability but fit and finish are very good. Overall I’m enjoying the trucklet and for what I would use the bed for it’s a good size for 2 bikes, mulch, gardening plants/supplies, etc.
    • Great truck, so-so infotainment

Had my Santa Cruz SEL for nearly a month and loving everything but the infotainment unit. Traded in a Bronco Sport that at 5k miles was started to have repeated electrical issues. Compared to the Bronco Sport, my Santa Cruz is a Luxury truck. The ride is fantastic and comfortable, easy to drive. I am currently averaging 28.2 mpg in 50/50 driving use. My engine is the base non turbo 2.5, it is not the quickest accelerating engine I've ever driven but it gets the job done. My insurance dropped 90 dollars every 6 months compared to the Bronco Sport. The infotainment is the only issue I have with the vehicle. No wireless charging, no wireless Android Auto connectivity. Even using USB cable to connect Android Auto, the system has a hard time maintaining connection at 50% of the time. Bluetooth works really well. This is the best well built vehicle I have ever owned in over 50 years of driving.
